Now, I want you to know that everything mentioned above is great, but what really has me blown away about this product is the point-and-click learning system she created, which is designed for rapid learning and implementation (I’ll explain more in a minute.) This is key, because no one wants to spend time trying to learn how to implement something. Kim designed a system that actually encourages users to take action by creating a video dashboard that walks them through the entire process with step-by-step icons.

This means, you click on a step, follow the directions. Click on the next step, and follow the directions…this goes on until you have built your online business (hence the point and click). It really is an amazing product.

When you consider all the valuable information you ge, it really does make me glad to see a product I am proud to promote.The product will sell for $77 during the launch and will then be raised to $97 3 days after the launch. New Affiliate Marketing Blog

So today, I'm launching my newest creation (when you're a genius, you gotta always have something in the pipeline). This isn't a new product (even though I've got one in the works), it's actually a sweet a** new affiliate marketing blog.

What's so great about that? Well, my new Affiliate Marketing Video blog is just that; entirely on video. I now realize how much easier it is to create videos and explain to people how to market, rather than just selling tons of books or tons of posts.

I really think that anyone looking to learn internet marketing will enjoy this new blog.

Google Nemesis Launch - Hours Away

Google Nemesis launches to day and already people are buzzing. Chris takes pride in his work, and if it's going to be even better than DJK or Google Assassin, then let's take a quick look at why it's so great.

What DJK was: Day Job Killer was a guide to teach others how to finally make money onlne, without going bankrupt. In my personal opinion, it was good, but a little misleading. Still worth it though.

Affiliate Project X: One of my most favorite make money guides I have ever read. It teaches beginners how to get started with Clickbank and other affiliate networks and finally make money. Great for beginners.

Google Assassin: A membership site that launched last year, where the buyer received tons of tools for adwords and affiliate marketing. The tools were good, but slightly difficult to implement.

There were even a few "off-tangent" guides that they co-wrote, but just by the DJK team. They are:

Affiliate Rockstar Status: ARS was actually really good. It didn't just cover PPC marketing, it also covered free traffic and WEB 2.0. The reason it wasn't strictly DJK, was because it was written by Eric Rockefeller, but endorsed by the DJK team.

The other was Project Blackmask. Project Blackmask wasn't really about Affiliate Marketing at all. It was really about Adsense and contextual links, and the use of Blackhat SEO. Again, this was written by Alex Goad, of Google Snatch, and endorsed by the DJK team.

So that's a basis of their products thus far, but what about Google Nemesis? Well, GN isn't a guide. It's a membership site. Similar to Google Assassin, but this time, you wil get tools that will do the work for you (as in, all of the work.) Really, the only thing you'll have to do is create simple landing pages, and that's it.

Google nemesis looks good, really good. I suggest it to anyone anyone who still hasn't seen profits from affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 10: More Affiliate Traffic Resources

Ok. So besides the paid traffic sources and the blog or site itself, it's time to wrap this Affiliate Marketing Crash Course up with some popular methods of traffic. All of these are tested and real ways of getting traffic.

Hopefully by now, you understand that traffic is the most important factor in making money. No traffic, no money. You could have the best product or site in the world, and it would even convert people that don't speak english into buying customers; but the sad truth is this: You have to, have to, have to have traffic to make money online. (Or even if you owned a store, it'd be the same thing...) So without rambling any longer, here are some of the most tried and true ways of scoring the best kind of traffic...

Viral Products

Create free product that people can give away or turn around and sell. But even bettter than that, make the PDF rebrandable, so that others can put their links in your book. This will entice them to download andturn around and give to others. Then that ebook will spread like a virus (viral), and you will get free traffic and sales.

Joint Ventures

Joint ventures are when two or more marketers go into marketing a products or products together. Either they will create a product together, or they will promote eachother. This means you will grow your list from the other person, along with netting sales from the products sold.

Articles

Submitting Articles is one of the best ways to get traffic. You can presell a product from an honest, credible stand point. Not only that, but article seem to just add credibility, as well as ranking high. Tons of people are looking for free info, and you can give them tons of free info, then lead them to a sales page or opt in page.

I highly recommend Brad Callen's Article Submitter. You can submit multiple articles at once.

Comments

Leaving comments on other people pages such as blogs and Squidoo lenses, can lead to some highly targeted traffic. Just leave a comment that mentions that if people liked that, then they should also try 'such and such site', for "THIS reason".

If you can leave html, then do so. If not, leave the site as the website, so that your name will be the site they visit. If neither, then just put URL.com, so people can copy and paste the URL into their browser.

Forums

Asking honest questions and also answering them in marketing forums or in forums related to your niche, can also be a great way to get traffic. Leave the site name in your signature, and just post on every topic realated to your niche that you either have an honest opion on, a real question, or a credible answer.

Social Networks

You pretty much have to use WEB 2.0 to get around the web today. If you're not sure what that is, it is basically user content generated websites. These sites include: Myspace, facebook, weebly, twitter, hi5, friendster, blogger, DIGG, de.licio.us ETC.

It's really any site created by mostly users.

Squidoo

This is another web 2.0 site, but I put it seperately because it has a specific goal: Get high ranking, while having a great looking page. The whole point of Squidoo is to write pages about whatever it is you love. The pages are like a combination between a blog post, a web page, and an article. You can write about whatever it is that you want on Squidoo.

Youtube

Yet another WEB 2.0 site, but Youtube also has its own purpose: make quality AND quick videos for marketing.

There is a rule of thumb: The higher the price of an item you're selling, the more effort you have to put into selling so here's a quick breakdown for youtube:

Make short videos for something you're giving away for free.

Make longer review and presell videos for something you're trying to sell. You'll probably want to also make more than one.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 9 - Paid Advertising

Amongst the many, many methods of free traffic, there are multiple paid versions of traffic. Here are the most popular and most widely common ways to gain traffic through paid services:

Adwords and PPC

These are the Ads that search engine display on the sides of the results, you know the "sponsored results..."

This is definitely the BIGGEST way to get traffic. Why? Because you get seen by so many people, it's ridiculous. Google's Adwords program, and along with any other ad placement network really, gets you instant traffic, for a lot cheaper than its worth. Think about it this way:

If you pay 10 cents a visitor, but get them to buy a 10 dollar item, you just made a 10K% ROI (return on investment). Well worth the money you spent to get them.

Plus, since millions of people use search engines or ad display networks everyday, it is very easy to see profits, or if any thing else, results. Its just that easy.

But there is a downside....

As seemingly easy as PPC as, it takes time to master writing good ads, and getting good click through. Not everyone is good at it, and that is why many waste tons and tons of money on it, but never see a return. It takes skill...

*NOTE* I have taught others to be good at PPC. If you're interested in getting some major PPC traffic at low costs, check out Adwords ON Overdrive...

Press Releases

Press Releases are great for the simple fact that they can almost be as instant as PPC traffic.

When you pay to send out a Press Release, it basically sends out a notice to all the search engines, saying that you have urgent news about whatever topic it is you wrote about. Generally, these press releases gain rank quickly, and they'll stay at the top of the rankings for a while. This can mean instant, quality traffic.

What is even better is if you really narrow down the niche, so that the PR can become number one of any given subject...

Buying Traffic

By purchasing traffic, you are pretty much just paying for people to see your site, and a lot of the time this doesn't work out that well. And here's Why:

When you purchase trafiic, it gets sent to your site one of four ways:

Expired domains - that the holders of the traffic sends it to
Redirects - When someone is going to another site, they sow you page as either a redirect, or a page while someone is waiting to go to some other page
404 Pages of their own - When visitors see a 404 page of the company you bought the traffic from, they instead see your page, and its cnsidered a page view
Pop ups - Instead of little boxes that ask you to do something, your whole page pops up

So while you may for 1000 hits, all it really is, is people that don't want ot see your site, viewing your site.

Again, I don't really recommend this, unless you can find really, really targeted quality traffic, then go fo it.

Buying Bulk Email Leads

I don't really recommend buying giant bulk email lists either for these two reasons:

The people on these lists have no idea who you are. Wh yshould they trust someone they know nothing about? And...
These lists get passed around A LOT. Generally, people will pass around th same names over and over, making easy profit.

But, I can't stop you from buying them and using them.

*NOTE* I don't condone this type of marketing. But the internet is at everyone's disposal so they do as they wish...

If you're going use a bulk list then, the first you're going to want to do is get them off of that list.

Send them an email that is full of nothing but content, and maybe even a free gift (report, pdf, video, whatever...). Then whoever joins your list are obviously the ones that are interested in your topic. Then slowly start to sell to these people.

You will get huge lists quickly... But don't email the ones that don't join over and over again. Remember, they didn't even want to hear from you in the first place...

There are a few other methods such as these:

Ezines
Ad Swaps
Online Newspapers

I don't really use any of these, so I won't go into them....

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 8 - Setting Up a Review Blog or Site

There are many types of sites that you can create to make you money: Arbitrage pages, landing pages, squeeze pages, sales pages, presell pages and even review sites.

Anyone of these could make you money, and those who really master them end up becoming rich with them. Why? Because they find out what they're good at and then master that technique.

A frequently Asked Question is this: But since each type of site can make you money, wouldn't you want to combine tons, or even all of these tehcniques, to make you tons and tons of money?

The answer is simply: No.
And here's why...

Whatever your site is about, you have to stay relevant to it in order to make money with it. Whatever the site's purpose is, you have to keep that purpose. By combining tons of different things on the page, the reader may, and probably will, get confused as to what you want them to do. Very few techniques can be added together and be successful, and they should only be tried whe you know what those combinations are...

I could go on about each type of site and how to fully make money with each one, but this course is about affiliate marketing, so let's get back to that.

The best, easiest and most common way to make money using affiliate marketing is with review sites or blogs. On this site, you're going to "review" products. Why I put it into quotations is because of this: You may or may not actually review the product, but the products that you "review" are going to be the ones you found to promote earlier. So now, here ia a step by step way to setup a review site or blog.

1) To setup a blog, try getting a free Blogger blog or something similar. You also can try movable type or wordpress. *Note about Wordpress: They rank well, but wordpress doesn't like affiliate marketing blogs, so I only recommend getting one if you're going to buy your own hosting.

To setup a free site, check out bravenet for free hosting. You can also try Weebly. They only allow you to ha ve 5 seperate weebly sites, but on any one of them, you can add as many pages or blogs as you want to.

You can even get cheap hosting and domains, and then host any one of them.

The Major Difference between a Review Site and a Review Blog:

If you start up a review site, that isn't a blog, then you probably won't be updating daily, where as if you have a blog, you can post regularly on the same or different products, whenever you want.

My opinion? Setup a blog for organic traffic, and a site for paid traffic. If you have to, just setup a weebly page about the 3 top products or however many you're going to review, and use your blog to post regularly about the subjects you are talking about. Then in your posts, mention the page...

2) Once you have your site or blog, you should name it something that pertains to the items you are reviewing. The keywords and stuff you use in your posts should also reflect that.

If you're going to review "dog training manuals" then name it something that has to do with that.

3) Adding ads to your blog. On top of affiliate marketing, another popular way to make money is by having people click on ads displayed on your page. It's an easy concept: You place other people's ads on your site, and when they are clicked on, you make money. It's that easy.

Sign up with Google Adsense. If you get approved, start putting ads on your site or blog.

If you use Blogger, you can sign up from there easily, and integrate them into your pages easier. If you use weebly, they're associated with AdBrite, so you can do the same thing with them. You can even put Adsense ads on Weebly and vice versa. Just copy the code and put it into an HTML box.

*Note* Remember how I said a bit ago how combining money making techniques can actually hurt you? Well, this can work if you do it like this:

You'll want to put your ads in inconspicous places, like right under the fold, at the very bottom of the page, or on pages that don't contain affiliate links. This way, if the person doesn't check out the product you wanted them to, then maybe they'll click on an ad, and still make you some money...

4) Ping your blog. Pinging your blog means that you sending basically a message out to multiple engines, telling them that your blog has been updated. You'll want to do this everytime you update your blog. I would try PingmyBlog.com first, and if that doesn't work, go with Pingomatic.com.

Lastly, once you have your page up you'll want to start getting traffic to it. As I mentioned in the last chapter, I will include the other methods of traffic in the part 10.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 7 - Begin Advertising Products and Get Traffic

So after completing steps 1 through 6, you should be here:

You understand the terms of affiliate marketing
You have a basic understanding of what affiliate marketing is, and its process which comes out to something like this: You get commissions from other people's products by advertising those products with special links.
You've decided what kind of products you want to use: digital (easier to sell) or physical (can make you tons of money quickly) or services (always in demand)
You found companies selling products in your niche or campanies that deal with your niche
You found the best or most interesting niches that you want to get into
You found products that you can put together or you decided to make your own
And now it's time to start advertising and getting traffic to those links!

This part, part 7, is really going to be about the process of advertising and the many routes you can take. The final 3 chapters will actually be about the most effective and popular means of getting traffic and sales.

Chapter 8 will mostly talk about blogging, Chapter 9 will talk about paid traffic, and finally Chapter 10 will cover the rest. Anyways, let me continue on with this part...

So now that you have your products, whether yours or affiliate products, you need to get traffic, signups and sales (hey, isn't that an Ewen Chia product?...). But seriously, that is the point of affiliate marketing.

Many people think that this is a really complicated process that takes tons and tons of time and effort or that it is overly complex. It really isn't. You just find a product (or products) for a niche. Then as you try to make sales, you will also build up an (e)mailing list. This way you will have repeat visitors, as well new customers.

So how to advertise and get all this stuff...

Well, advertising just means putting an ad in front of a group of people. That's it. But there's something that most gurus don't tell you, so that you want to waste your money over and over again...

And that is this: You have to stand out and be clever.

Marketing is all about standing out so that people see you in front of thousands of other affiliates. Affiliate marketing is getting tougher by the day because lists grow, products come out everyday, and the best stay on the top. Its tough work, but if your clever, you'll stand out.

Alright let's get into the processes!

Before I continue though let me clarify something:

Traffic is just people visiting a certain site that you lead it to. Signups is getting people on your mailing list with free items. Sales is the ultimate conversion, being the best of them all.

So in essence; traffic, which everyone seems to have trouble with, really is easy to get. Signups, are harder to get. Even if someone goes to your site, it doesn't mean they're going to sign up to your list for any reason. Sales of course, are the hardest to get. You may get twice as many (or more) signups than you will in sales. Why you ask? Because the product really has to be what they want, or it has to be a really good offer; that's why. People only buy what they think they need.

Let's get started...

Getting Traffic:

There is a simple formula that noone seems to know, that is the basis of traffic...

Traffic does not come on its own. Just you create a website or page, traffic doesn't just rollin on in; you have to get it yourself...

So what is this formula? Well, really easily put here it is:

More Sources for traffic, More Traffic total.

Did you catch that? Allow me to explain:

Say you have a new site, either about a new product you created or a product that you are an affiliate for. Now that you have your site, you'll need traffic to that site to get your signups and sales.

There are three major categories of traffic: Paid, Organic and exchange. That's not all, just the major ones. I digress...

It doesn't matter what methods you use for traffic, the more you use the better off you are. Just remember that.

That' enough rumbling on, let's move on.

Signups and optins

Building a list in marketing is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT things in marketing. Notice I said list, but I didn't necessarily say large list.

Yes having a big list is a good thing, but its more important to have a SEED list: a list that is actually interested in your products and services, rather than a large list of people who are just looking for free stuff.

How to get them

Well, there are 3 major ways to get signups and optins:

Squeeze pages, newsletter or product optins, and popups.

While these techniques are often intertwined, here are what they are in a nutshell:

Squeeze page: A page used only to gather signups for an email list.

Opt ins: These are usually dispersed around a page so that the reader has the option of signing up for something like a newsletter of free product/report.

Popups: I know we all hate them, but when you go to a salepage, it is a great way to increase signups.

Combining all these is really the best way to go, like I said earlier. More traffic = More Signups.

Sales

It doesn't get any better than the actual sale or affiliate sale of an item. To me their both great. Why? Because here the advantages of both:

With sales of your own products, you build up your "name" and your business.

With affiliate sales, you generally make a lot more money, but you don't build your own business.

So its good to continually make products, but affiliate for others in the mean time.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 6 - Choosing Products To Promote

This really is a no brainer. I mentioned a couple posts ago about the different companies you can use as affiliate programs. And last post I talked about finding your niche. This post, I want to breifly explain how to bring it all together.

First off, take your list that you made in part 5, and find maybe the top 3 in each category, or even take your top ten items total, and this will be where you start.

Step 1) Using Search Engines To find Products

Start by going to Google (or the search engine of your choice) and typing in "your niche" and then products or "affiliates."

Check the products that you find using this search, and write down any possible ones. I usually go with only the ones on the first page, but you can check the secone results page too.

If you don't really find anything, then just search the niche itself, and check the pages for any links that say "affiliates."

Whether or not you got any this way, it's time to move onto step 2.

Step 2) Check Affiliate Programs Themselves

Go to the programs I told you about earlier and see if they already have products to promote. Try Paydotcom, Clickbank, Comission Junction and any others. I generally use these 3 for my products, just depends.

Step 3) Creating Your Own Products

You'll probably only find a few products per niche. Heck, you might not even find any. This is ok, because lastly, to keep this niche profitable, you're going to make your own products. Whether or not you found some products, you'll want to make your own eventually and here's why:

People lose interest in you if you only promote other people's products. They may feel cheated.
To get more from this niche over and over, you'll need to give them new things to keep them happy. This is a good thing. Give them what they want.
Hand out free reports and videos as a token of good faith. It helps.

Once you have a hnadful of products, it's time to advertise!

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 5 – Discovering Your Niche

People think that this is the hardest step in marketing. It shouldn't be. Niche marketing is straight up easier money than affiliate marketing. While they share the same properties in the fact that you are still doing the same in the end, niche marketing is cornering a small piece of a market, and selling to it like crazy.

And I'm going to tell you a secret that most people charge for, and here it is...

If you an't find a product or service to promote as an affiliate, you're going to have to (do I dare say it... Yes I do) Make Your Own. Seriously. That's the big secret.

Make your own 20 to 30 paged PDF and sell it. That's the big secret that gurus charge you $97 for. Don't know how much to sell it for? Just ask for a price that's close to the amount of pages you put in it.

Where to Begin?

Well, it has to begin with you obviously. You'll want to start by making some lists. I know, I know. You just want to jump right in there and start making thousands a day like all the gurus. Don't we all want that? Anyways...

Many marketers will tell you to make like 1 or 2 lists, but that is rubbish. I say at minimum 4 or even 5. It'll explain it more in a minute but here are the lists:

Things You Like To Do
Things You Already Can Do
Things You Are Interested In, but not necessarily familiar with
Things You can do that could be making you money
And finally, Things that you have no idea about, but think that they can be profitable

First up, Things That You Like To Do

This of course is any hobby or special interest that you are into. If you go play racquetball on the weekends, put that in the list. If you like to race people on drag strips, another fine one. Whatever you like to do for fun, put anything and everything you can think of on this list.

So what kind of products could you make of these? Easy. Short 5 to 10 paged reports that you could sell for 5 to 10 dollars. Start out small. Using the racquetball example, make one about exercises to do before playing racquetball, proper technique, the rules, popular players, ways to score, etc. Use your head.

As for the racing one, again easy. You could write a report about how to lower your times for whatever kind of car that you have. This way you might know some amount about it, and you could do some research. It's that easy. If you find a decent amount of buyers, you're golden. Niche marketing works.

Next list, Things That you can Already Do

Now you'll want to make a list of things that you can already do. Say you know how to rebuild engines, there's a great guide right there. Or if you could type 60 wpm, you could sell a guide about typing exercises and techniques to improve typing skills.

This again is anything you can do, as in skills. These may over lap the first list, which is ok for now. If you can't think of any skills, just think about what you do well. If you still need an example, here's mine.

I'm decent at cleaning people's harddrives. Not physically, but I know how to get rid of viruses, make it run faster, and protect it overall. So people in my family and my wife's ask me to help them with their computers all the time. So this was an example of a niche that I got into, fixing hardrives. Its all about what you can do.

Oh ya, before I move on, let me say something first: Playing video games CAN be skill. Writing guides about how to beat games or boss battle guides or the cheats for games CAN be profitable. Sorry, I'm a nerd sometimes... Too much Playstation. Oh well.

Thirdly, Things You Are Interested In

The reason I say this is because you DO NOT have to actually know your niche before marketing it. I'm not telling you to make crappy reports about something you know nothing about, I just mean, it's easy to learn something and then turn it into a report in no time, so don't let not knowing something stop you from making money with any niche.

So now, you'll make a list about whatever you're interested in. This can be broad or narrow, depending on what it is. Just write it down anyways. Say you read about electronic gizmos and gadgets. There are a couple of ways to make money with that:

Make a review blog of those types of items, and have affiliate links to sites that sell them, and sell small reports about flaws and how to use the gadgets. Stuff like that.

So just write down whatever you're into, but not necessarily in.

Then, make a list of Things You Have No Idea About but think they Will be Profitable

This list may be your hardest to do. It's ok. Often times, this one is for me. It's hard to make money when you have no idea what to sell. If you absolutely can't think of anything, then don't put anything. I think its easiest just to read about stuff from emails, tv and life in general to get ideas.

Here's an example. The other day I was at Staples. I was walking around looking at desks and stuff when I saw a lether desktop set. Then I got an idea. What if I tried that niche? So when I got home, I put "Leather Desk Accessories" into Google. There were tons of results. I was blown away. This kind of niche has got to have some money in it because there were so many ads and results. So I didn't get into that niche , but my point is this: You can make money from anything, and people do. Every single day.

Finally, you should make a list of things you could be doing to make you money.

This itself is really a list that you're going to put the rest of your results into. This list is the different ways you could make money online with all of the results you came up with. I'm not going to go on forever, but here are some ideas:

review site, review blog, pdfs, reports, guides, services, tutoring, courses, videos, etc. Feel free to do one or all of them.

As for the niches themselves, go start off with the ones that match up the most, then work your way down. On to part 6.

Depending on whether you’re going to promote physical items, digital goods, or services (or all of them) I have a come up with a strategic way to market for all of them.

For digital products, it is probably easiest to make an affiliate review site. For physical products, try selling them as if you are in that type of business, and the items you use are the same ones you're recommending.

The top Digital companies I affiliate with are:

Clickbank – Probably the most widely known digital products company there is. High conversions, a lot of best sellers, and tons of affiliates. The biggest names in marketing use Clickbank for their product launches.

Paydotcom – Easy to use. Because of Clickbank’s standards, such as you can only go as high as 75% commissions and certain limitations that you have to put on your content, many products that don’t make it into Clickbank, end up here. Paydotcom is often looked over, a lot. I use them all the time. Also, they pay with PayPal, which means instant money, instead of waiting for a check.

Esellerate – Esellerate is another great digital goods company. They sell more than just digital goods, but their main thing is such. Esellerate is a good combination of CJ and Clickbank.
And here are some affiliate programs that sell physical products, and services. Now, some of the companies listed below also sell digital products, so they’re great to sign up with anyway. They’re all free so why not.

Commission Junction – This company is a really popular company. Their affiliate program includes some of the biggest names on the internet such as the Rich Jerk (a famous internet marketing course), Godaddy domains and hosting, and even Ebay. I suggest signing up with all of them. Once you have signed up with them, you have to apply to the publisher to get approved (they usually say yes). Then you will be provided with your links and stuff.

Linkshare – Another popular one. When I was talking before about services and stuff, I was somewhat talking about this kind of affiliate program. Linkshare includes companies like Orbitz, the traveling company.

The final one I want to mention is Clickbooth. Again, they sell tons of different things such as Blockbuster movie rentals.

What you decide to promote depends on you niche. So what programs do you use? Well, I have a simple suggestion:

Go to Google, and type in whatever your niche is or the type of product/service you want to promote, and “affiliate program” or something like that with it. This way, you should find what you’re looking for. If you end up doing some kind of affiliate website, you’ll want to have at least 3 different products. If you get lucky and find three from the same affiliate company, then Kudos. But if not, keep searching! This is where a lot of affiliates get lazy and just promote one product over and over. People like to see comparisons. So get to searching.

Below are a few other good companies to sign up with.

PayPal – If you’re going to accept payment from them (which I suggest) sign up here. Instant payments.

Amazon – To tell you the truth, Amazon’s commissions are really that high, but you do get paid if someone goes to Amazon, and then buys a whole bunch of stuff (even if it’s not the product you directed them to) you make commissions from everything they buy. That’s not to mention, that Amazon has some decently priced items. And the tracking cookie stays there for 60 days (or maybe it’s more) so if they go and buy stuff in that time, more money for you.

Deal Dot Com - Get regularly priced items for cheap. That's right. People actually send in their digital goods, to sell for less and people love th bargains. They also have a great affiliate program. Check them out for yourself!

I could probably go on and on, I’m not here to waste time. So let’s move onto part 5.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 3 - Physical Products, Services or Digital Goods

As an affiliate marketer, you really have no limit to the things you can promote. You can promote anywhere from physical products (selling flagpoles) to services (airline tickets) to digital goods (ebooks and software).

So which do you go with?

Well, I go with the stuff that I'm good at or am interested in. If you have no Idea, try them all.

Physical: This really can be any physical good. Ebay and Amazon are good examples of this. But you can go much broader than this such as the flagpole example. I knew of this guy that was selling flagpoles and made like 10k in one day... Not too bad.

Services: This too can be anything. It could be something online, like designing someone site or digitally related, or it could be something in real life like selling airline tickets for a company like hotwire.

Digital Products: Ebooks and software are the biggest things to affiliate for. They don't have to be shipped, they have high conversions and they're generally easy to sell. Some super affiliates only promote digital products because of their conversions, and the amount of money you can make with these items.

Marketing Term: Niche

Niche

A niche market is a focused targetable portion (subset) of a market sector.

By definition, then, a business that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers. A niche market may be thought of as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.
A distinct niche market usually evolves when a potential demand for a product or service is not met by any supply, or when a new demand arises due to changes in society, technology, or the general environment.

Niche market ventures may become profitable even though they are by nature small in comparison to the mainstream marketplace, due to the benefits of specialization and focus on small identifiable market segments; even without the benefit of economy of scale. Niche markets may be ignored or discounted by large businesses due to what they consider to be small potential; this in turn is part of the process that makes the niche market available to smaller businesses. The key to capitalizing on a niche market is to find or develop a market niche that has customers who are accessible, that is growing fast enough, and that is not owned by one established vendor already.

Affiliate Crash Course: Part 2 - Basic Understanding

Now that you've familiarized yourself with the terminology of affiliate marketing, let's get into the gist of it. The process.

I'm not going to jump into the whole deal of how you can make outrageous sums of money with affiliate marketing (even though you can) or even all that nonsense on what it is. I'm going to explain the process.

Affiliate marketing is obviously making commissions from other people's products. That's it. Call it commissions, finder's fee, service fee, slice of the pie, whatever you want, that's what it is.

There are many ways to make a healthy living with internet marketing, but affiliate marketing is the funnest and one of the lowest risk. This basically is the heart of internet marketing; one way or another.

Every marketer has their own approach. Some push high end products with low conversion, others push multiple small items, whilst getting many sales. Ultimately, the goal is to keep expanding your customer base and promote products as they come out. Thus, affiliate marketing never dies. New companies, products and services emerge all the time.

While many gurus or popular names will just tell you to promote their products, take your time finding multiple products, from various sources. Spread your inital risk out evenly and find what niche you find yourself getting good in. More about finding your niche in a later chapter...

For now, stick to topics you like, are interested in, or think you will want to keep researching so that anything you learn will be passed on to your customers and subscribers so that they may in turn, learn something too and your relationship grows. When you teach your customers rather than just trying to sell to them all the time, they will reward you with loyalty, feedback (which is really important) and most of all, your goal: sales. Oh ya, handing out free stuff is good too...

IN a nutshell affiliate marketing is: You will be advertising products and services for others, and making commissions off of those said items. At the same time, you want to capture the information of these leads so that you may in turn, transform these people into customers of your own. It is a giant ongoing process, but believe me, it is fun once you get the hang of it. Like anything just takes practice and patience. You'll just be cutting and pasting. Anyways...

Empty Promises

I’m sure you’ve seen them. “You could be making money by this time tomorrow”, or “you could be going in a few hours from now…” Or how about my favorite, “make money in the next 15 minutes.” We’ve all seen them. The empty promises that marketers use to lure in unsuspecting victims just trying to start their life of a hassle free, no boss, job from home. These people that, just like the marketers “catering to their needs,” who probably set out to do the same thing when they first started, just trying enjoy life instead of throwing it away forever, living paycheck to paycheck don’t know what they’re getting themselves into, believe everything they say, just to find out that they’ll probably never be successful.
What they’re told is that they’ll be making money in 15 minutes, but do you think they really are? Of course not. If making money almost instantly like that was that easy, then there would be a lot more people doing it. But there isn’t that many. Only about 5 to 10% of marketers make enough to live off of and are considered “rich.” And let me tell you, they didn’t do it over night. Heck, if you ever check out Stone Evans’ main page, in the heading it says “…after 24 months…” That’s pretty honest. And if you visit my web site, the-cashgenerator.com then you’ll see that I straight up tell you that it takes at least a good week to set everything up. No guarantees of becoming rich that fast. You might make some sales, but from experience, this business is as hard as any, yet seemingly easy on the surface.
When I first got started I was sucked in the way everyone else was. I went to a few of the big named websites and they said I could be making in a day or less. I of course thought this was great because I don’t know about you, but I hated my job. I worked in a warehouse, and if you know anything about that, then you know it is some tough physical labor. Anyways, so I bought a few of these ebooks just to find out that I needed a lot more money to start than I thought I did. Through vague instructions and complicated techniques I found myself out 400 dollars, and here it was a month and a half later, with not a single sale. I don’t mean to make this into a personal narrative; I just want other to learn from my mistake. I have never seen a product or program that had me going in a day or less. This stuff takes time, and the reason that they say you can be making money that fast is because they have the resources to do so. You do not. You have to learn everything from scratch. They don’t. So if you’re ready to learn more about the truth, please proceed…

The Techniques

Some of the products out there just say that they’ll teach you to make money, but they don’t really say what you’ll be doing. If you don’t know how you’re going to be making money how can you expect to make any? Others do explain how; setting up ads, traffic, selling other people’s products, selling your own products. These are all the common techniques and only the ones that break the mold and create a unique twist on something that’s been around for a while are the ones that are usually successful. I mean there are probably at least 500 products for affiliate marketing, and they probably all say the same thing. The market of making money online or from home is flooded with people trying to sell more products about making money online and from home.
For a hot minute I’d like to discuss a few of the ways that marketers sell items to people guaranteeing to make them rich. (If you’re new to this, and you don’t know any of the following phrases or terms, it’s okay; I’ll break it down. And you’re an experience marketer reading this, then you already know the truth…)

Affiliate Marketing

I’d have to say the biggest topic that these gurus or big time names cover is definitely Affiliate Marketing. Most of them say it is “…the easiest money you’ll ever make…” I’m not saying you can’t make decent money with affiliate marketing. You can. And in theory, it is an easy concept; provide a link to a website from a product or service. If someone goes to that web site and buys it from that link you provided, you receive a commission. It actually doesn’t get much simpler.
But what the person selling this item doesn’t tell you that the product is probably a saturated product. Since they say it is so easy, everyone tries to become the master affiliate or something. You probably will make more money than the person who created the item, (if you get sales) but when there are tons of people promoting the product, they aren’t going to get rich doing it. Think about it. The more people there are promoting, the less profit for each. It’s like throwing a turkey sandwich into a pool of sharks. It doesn’t go far. And the whole time that people that ARE making sales, they’re just building up the guru’s list that came out with the product. Do you think the creator is suffering? Nope. Probably not, because they’re still getting traffic, no matter who or where it’s from. But that’s only half of it.
If you’ve ever tried to promote a product through an affiliate program, you’ll notice that some people give you tools to help promote their items and some don’t. Usually, the marketers that have faith in their product, or know that it’ll probably do well, will give you tools to promote it. A thorough marketer will give plenty of tools including ad samples, banner ads, maybe some emails and so forth.
But a lazy marketer won’t even give you any of that. The only thing you get from them is an affiliate link and the rest is up to you. To me that’s just bad business. On both ends really. If you don’t support your affiliates, the ones that you want to do your job for you, how you expect to be successful? I don’t understand. I think I’m getting a little off-track because what I was really trying to get to is that making money online with affiliate marketing today is harder because of another reason. Traffic.
To be successful on the internet, and really this goes for any business, you need customers. Well, on the internet it’s called “traffic.” And to me this is the hardest part about making money on the internet. It’s not creating quality packages or products, it’s not web design, it’s not writing decent copy, all that can be learned. But traffic has to be obtained. To get back to what I was saying about affiliate marketing, if you’re trying to promote a product to make your money, you need just as much traffic as the person who created the item you’re promoting. This is harder to get than everyone says it is. Of course if you already have customers or tons of traffic, then it’s not so hard, but when you are first starting out, you won’t have any. No traffic means no sales and no money. It really is that simple. This actually brings me to my next point which is ads.

“Making money with adwords campaigns”

The very first thing I want to point out is the fact that I am not a traffic “guru” or master or anything to insinuate that I am an expert in the field. But I do know what I know from experience and that it’s not as easy as everyone says it is to get.
Of course there are several methods for traffic, but one of the biggest that I want to cover briefly is Adwords. If you don’t know what that is, let me quickly explain. Have you even done a google search and seen the little ads to the right of the search results?

See the ones on the Right separated by the small vertical line? Those are Adwords ads. People pay Google (and some the other engines have something similar) to place small ads next to the search results of whatever it is that the person typed in. These are called PPC; Pay Per Click. It really isn’t a difficult process. You write your ad and then have it link to your site or whatever site you want it. So when it gets clicked, they end up there. But the downside is this: you pay for every time someone clicks on that ad. So whether you just made money or not from a sale, service or sign up; you have to pay for that person just clicking on it. And those clicks add up, believe you me. The toughest part of all, is that the amount you pay is based on what “keywords” and/or “key phrases” you use. The more the term or terms are used by others, the higher the Cost per Click. I actually don’t use it myself. It can just end up being a lot of money, especially if you don’t have a compelling enough campaign to get people to buy. There are supposedly a few ways to get these ads for free, but like I said, I’m no traffic guru, so I don’t know if they truly work. Adsense

Google’s other little money making system involves Adsense. Not to be confused with Adwords, this service is actually free, and somewhat the opposite of Adwords. This time, you don’t write the ads, you just display them. By strategically placing ads around a well written, keyword filled, text rich page, these ads when clicked can net you tons of money. These are essentially the adwords ads that can be searched for, but instead of searching for them, they are on whatever current page you’re on.
So how much can you make with this system? Well, it depends on two things; 1) the amount of clicks obviously, and 2) the ads that are displayed. The first part is easy to understand. When you setup the ads on your page, they’re secret embedded with your own published ID, and every time the ads are clicked, you make money. So whether it’s a picture ad or just text, when people follow it through, it’s money in the bank. The second part is a little more complex. Remember a few seconds back when I said the cost for Adwords ads depends on the keywords, well this also goes for how much you make with these ads. Depending on what ads show up on your page (because Google may rotate ads on your page every time it’s loaded), you can make different amounts for each ad, but more importantly for the more the searched keyword is. Your Own Product

Writing your own product seems to be a lot of newcomers’ worst fear. It seems that once they hear that they’re going to have to actually put some more work and thought into this whole making money from home thing than they thought; but I’m here to tell you that it’s not as hard as it sounds. Trying become rich, or even just trying to make enough money to stay home, is A LOT more work than most people say it is. It requires dedication and you’ve gotta want to become successful or you won’t. It’s just that easy. Unless you were born wealthy, in which case I don’t think you’d be reading this now, then you know that it definitely is hard out there.
Making money on the internet is no exception, because most people don’t just make a lot of money from source (unless you’re a guru on the subject, then you probably know every secret there is), they make money from multiple sources. How does this relate to you making your own product? Well, people always want to know how someone got rich, just they can have a chance to possibly follow that process and one day make it big too. And so, how do you make money aside from whatever it is you do? Telling people how to do whatever it is you do in the form of a product. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. If you give people a rags to riches story, with some testimonials and a little proof, they eat it up. With the testimonials, it shows that others can do it too, and with the proof (usually in the form of a picture), it builds up credentials. Makes sense right? When someone famous writes a book, it usually sells; so it only makes sense that it works in marketing. And you too can do this. Even if you’ve never written a high school essay, I can tell you how to write your own product. It really is a lot easier than it sounds. Plus, how do you expect to make any real money online just shoveling out everyone else’s garbage? It’s time to make your own money making program… Let’s get started!

Pre Made Web sites

If you’ve never seen one of these supposed “ pre –built money making web sites,” they claim that all you have to do is advertise them. That’s it. That you shouldn’t have to change the site itself at all, just get it out there and you’ll be making money in no time. Yeah right. I hate to burst your bubble but it’s a little more than that. Really. I mean come on. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we all just bought a web site and started rolling in the dough? But think about this for a second if you will. If 100 people all buy these web sites everyday, in ten days that’s a thousand of these cookie-cutter, mold conforming websites. In a hundred days, that’s ten thousand websites. Now, going back to the sandwich and the sharks analogy, how can any of these people expect to make money without breaking the mold? Not gonna happen. It’s just not. That’s not to say you CANNOT make any cash with these sites, it’s just tough. They may technically “work”, but you’re going to have to put all your resources into advertising. I mean if you really want to, go ahead, but it’s not on my shoulders; it’s on yours. I wouldn’t but only you can decide for yourself if you want to break the chain and create your own unique product and website. If you willing to start your own profitable website, join me NOW!

Viral Marketing

The phrase “viral marketing” in and of itself isn’t a way to make money. It’s really just a type of marketing; a very effective type of marketing. While it sounds dirty or sickening, it’s really just how this type of marketing works. Similar to a virus, viral marketing catches onto a couple of people and they pass it on to others and so on and so forth. Because it spreads like a virus, this is how it came to be known as such. This is one of the greatest things about the internet today; you can spread these viral items to millions almost instantaneously.
Learning to use it. So how do start using this technique? Well you’ll want a product, or item that people will want to pass around. Free ebooks, reports or content filled documents such as this, things that are filled with great information, are perfect. Then, once you have your document or item, you’re going to “infect it.” Don’t get me wrong, this is by no means a bad term. This is actually a good thing. You fill the document with great links to your products or affiliate links, then pass it on. The when others read it, they can enjoy it and they can either click on the links to make you money, or pass it on to more people so it gets spread out even more. It really is a WIN-WIN situation either way. And if it’s really good, then they’ll do both. ;) Then to seal the deal, give them a chance to rebrand the document, with their own links and it just gives them all the more reason to do it. OK, so the first thing you'll want to do is familiarize with the terms on my Affiliate Marketing Terminology page. We will be using a lot of those terms because well, they are about affiliate marketing and internet marketing in general.

Marketing Term: Ad Display Network

Ad Display Network:

A network that search engines and paid search engines use to display ads relevant to searches done from their engine, or content related to the page that the ads are displayed on.

For example, Google's Adsense program is it's ad Display Network. Whenever you see a bunch of small "Ads by Google," the nyou know those are paid ads. The authors of the webpage often get paid to display these ads, but only if the readers click through them. The more the ad is worth, the highere the amount gained.

Marketing Term: Above The Fold

Above the Fold:

The top page part of an email or web page that you see as a screen loads. Generally, this is a marketing technique in which the marketer would put an out going link in the top portion of the page, in hopes that someone may click without reading. "The fold" of the page depends on browser settings and page settings.

If the marketer wants to make sure there are only certain itmes in view, the most common thing to do is leave some white space as a cushion..

This is also a popular thing to do with Landing Pages. Most will put some form of "Call To Action" so that they might get those people who don't want to wait to read about something. What the call to action is depends on the author of the page and the page's intention.

As so, I am going to list any and all terms and definitions related to internet marketing that I could think of here. Please enjoy. And oh ya, I will try to keep this list as updated as possible.

Above the Fold: Describes the part of an email message or web page that is visible without scrolling down the page. This term is important because all content above the fold is assumed to be more valuable to the reader as they see it first. The size of the "above the fold" area will depend on the resolution of the users computer monitor and the number of pixels their monitor displays.

*NEW* Ad Display Network: A network that search engines and paid search engines use to display ads relevant to searches done from their engine, or content related to the page that the ads are displayed on...

*NEW* Ad Placement System: A search engine's Ad creating program. Publishers and advertisers use many Ad Placement systems to create ads about products and services related to a specific niche or search term. Then, the Ads written are displayed on the search engine's Ad Display network.

Advertiser: Someone advertising a product or service. Sometimes the creator of the good is referred to as the advertiser, but most of the time, it is an independent person/group or third party.

*NEW* AdSense: Google's Relevancy Ad Display Network. Google Displays relevant ads to either searches or content on the current page. Then the page's author gets a comission of the traffic from the clicks on the ads.

*NEW* Adwords: Google's PPC Ad Placement System, or Search Engine Ad System. Publishers and advertisers use Adwords to promote products or services on the web.

Affiliate: A Web site owner that earns a commission or finders-fee for referring clicks, leads, or sales to a merchant.

Affiliate Agreement: terms between a merchant and an affiliate that govern the relationship. This includes the terms on which the affiliate will be rewarded for the traffic sent to the merchant's web site.

Affiliate Information Page: A page on your web site that explains the terms of your affiliate program including your commission rates, affiliate agreement, a link for existing affiliates to login, as well as a link to the signup page for new affiliates.

Affiliate Link: A URL tracking link that identifies the affiliate and sends traffic to the merchant's web site. For example, a link might look like http://www.yourdomain.com/yourpage.asp?AffiliateID=5999
These links are unique in order to track the traffic coming from the Affiliate site. Typically these links can be simple text links, images, product links, etc.

Affiliate Manager: The person responsible for running the merchant's affiliate program. This includes recruiting affiliates, establishing incentive programs, creating media for the affiliates, reporting on sales and paying affiliates.
Affiliate Program Can also be called an Associate Program, Partner, Referral or Revenue sharing program. In such a program the merchant rewards the affiliate for web traffic, sales or leads on a pay-per-click, pay-per-sale, or pay-per-lead basis.

Affiliate Program Directory: A comprehensive listing of merchants' affiliate programs. The directories are typically categorized by industry and include the typical payout or commission rates. Click here for a sample list of affiliate program directories.

Affiliate Software: A software program such as Affiliate Wiz for running and managing an affiliate program. This typically includes signing up affiliates, managing links, tracking impressions, clicks, sales, leads. This also includes paying affiliates, etc.

Affiliate Solution Provider: 3rd party company that provides an affiliate tracking solution on a hosted basis. Typically an affiliate software solution is hosted by you with your web site. With an affiliate solution provider, they provide the hosting for you.

Affiliate Tracking: The process of tracking a link uniquely by affiliate using an Affiliate Link.

Associate: Synonym for affiliate.

Auto-Approve: Affiliate application process whereby all application are immediately accepted/approved upon submittal by the affiliate. This term can also be used to describe the process of automatically accepting all sales recorded by affiliates.

Banner Ad: An electronic advertisement or billboard such as an animated GIF, Flash Movie, JPEG that advertisers a product, service, or web site.

Browser: A client program (software), such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, or Opera, that is used to look at various kinds of Internet resources.

*NEW* Call To Action: An incentive to get the reader or person viewing the page, blog, or email to respond in a certain way.

Charge Back: An invalid sale that results in the affiliate's commission being forfeited. Generalyy a refund on a digital product.

Click-through: The action when a user clicks on a link and follows through to the merchant's web site.

Click-Through Ratio (CTR): percentage of visitors who click-through on a link to visit the merchant's web site. This is a big thing...

Co-branding: situation where affiliates are able include their own logo and branding on the pages to which they send visitors through affiliate links. Also...

Commission: Income an affiliate earns for generating a sale, lead or click-through to a merchant's web site. Sometimes called a referral fee, a finder's fee or a bounty.

Cookies: small text files stored on the visitor's computer, which record information that is of interest to the merchant site. In affiliate software cookies are utilized to track which affiliate the web visitor came from and which banner or link they clicked. They can also store the date/time of the click for purposes of tracking the time elapsed between a click and a conversion to a sale or lead.

Cookie Expiration/Cookie Retention: When a cookie is planted on a web browser, a date when the cookie expires is defined. This date is important because affiliate sales can only be recorded before the cookie expiration date. This period will also determine if repeat sales will be recorded.

Conversion Rate: Percentage of clicks that result in a commissionable activity (sale or lead).

CPA (Cost Per Action): The amount of cost for a conversion such as a sale or lead.

CPC (Cost Per Click): Cost of an individual click when paying on a per click basis.

CPM (Cost Per Thousand): The cost of 1000 banner impressions.

CPO (Cost Per Order): Same as CPA but refers specifically to sales.

Customer Bounty: Pays the affiliate partner for every new customer that they direct to a merchant.

E-mail Link: An affiliate link to a merchant site in an e-mail newsletter, signature, or a dedicated e-mail blast.

EPC (Earnings Per click): Average earnings per 100 clicks. A relative rating that describes the ability to turn clicks into commissions.

HTML code: Refers to the lines of code that an affiliate places on their web page(s) for linking to the merchant's site. This HTML code contains the unique identifier that identifies the traffic as coming from the Affiliate's web site.

Impression: How many times a banner advertisement was displayed or viewed.

In-house: alternative to using an affiliate solution provider; building and managing your own affiliate program internal to your company. Typically this is accomplished by purchasing a 3rd-party product such as Affiliate Wiz.

Manual Approval: Refers to the process of validating an affiliate application and then approving them after validation. This can also refer to the process of approving sales after they have been validated.

Merchant: The person selling the goods or service is referred to as the merchant. The merchant pays affiliates for sending traffic to the merchant's web site after a product or service is purchased.

*NEW* Niche: A niche is simply a specialized or very targeted market. Read more...

P3P Privacy Policy -- Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P). A protocol for sharing private information over the Internet from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). A Web site's privacy policy is defined by the Webmaster answering a standard set of multiple-choice questions, which result in tags embedded in the Web site's home page. Users also define their privacy requirements in their P3P-enabled browsers; for example, whether they allow their names disclosed to third parties. If the Web site policy and user preferences are not the same, the browser alerts the user.
P3P also assists with online sales. It lets users decide what specific data they are willing to divulge automatically to the site, such as shipping address and credit card number. If the site requests more data, the browser alerts the user, who can then decide whether to share it or not. For more information, visit www.w3.org/P3P.

Pay-Per-Sale: An affiliate marketing program that rewards affiliates based on each conversion to a sale such as when purchasing a product or service from the merchant's web site. Pay-per-sale programs usually offer the highest commissions but tend to have the lowest conversion rates.

Pay-Per-Lead: Affiliate program that rewards affiliates for conversions to leads. A lead might include a signup form, software download, survey, contest or sweepstakes entry, signup for a trial, etc. Pay-per-lead generally offers midrange commissions and midrange to high conversion ratios.

Pay-Per-Click: Rewards an affiliate for each unique click to the merchant's web site. This type of affiliate program is uncommon because of click fraud or fake clicks. This term is also used to describe the price to display Search Engine Ads.

Performance-Based Marketing: Marketing in which the merchant only pays commissions for results such as conversions to sales or leads.

Recurring Commissions: The process of rewarding an affiliate on a recurring basis whenever the merchant charges a customer a recurring fee. For example, a web host that charges customers on a monthly basis might reward the affiliate a percentage of each month's payment from the customer.

Residual Earnings: Programs that pay affiliates not just for the first sale a shopper form their sites makes, but all additional sales made at the merchant's site over the life of the customer.

ROAS: stands for 'Return on Advertising Spending'. This is the amount of revenue generated for every dollar spent on advertising. For instance, a ROAS of $1 means you're generating $1 in sales for every $1 in advertising spend, and a ROAS of $5 means you generate $5 in sales for every $1 in spending.

ROI: stands for 'Return on Investment'. This is what all marketing managers want to see from the money they spend on their marketing and advertising campaigns. The higher the sales, the large the number of shoppers and the greater the profit margin generated by sales – the better the ROI.

*NEW* Search Engine Ads: The ads that are displayed by Search Engines either by search or just being displayed on relevant pages.

*New* Search Engine Advertising: The Use of Search Engines to prmote products, via their paid Ad Placement Systems. Ads are created to be tagreted to specific keywords and terms related to the searches done by regular viewers.

Spider Detection: The process of detecting and ignoring automated spiders or bots such as search engines like Google/Googlebot.

Super Affiliates: The highest performing affiliates. Typically less than 1% of affiliates are super affiliates yet that 1% typically will bring more than 90% of your sales.

Targeted Marketing: Offering the right offer to the right customer at the right time.

Tracking Method: the way that a program tracks referred sales, leads or clicks. The most common are by using a unique web address (URL) for each affiliate, or by embedding an affiliate ID number into the link that is processed by the merchant's software. Some programs also use cookies for tracking.

Text Link: link that is not accompanied by a graphical image.

Tracking Code: Refers to the hidden 1X1 pixel tracking code that is placed on the confirmation page of your store for tracking sales conversions.

Two-tier: Affiliate marketing model that allows affiliates to sign up additional affiliates below themselves, so that when the second tier affiliates earn a commission, the affiliate above them also receives a commission. Two-tier affiliate marketing is also known as MLM (Multilevel Marketing).

Unique Click: The process of only counting unique clicks from each web visitor. Unique clicks are typically tracked by recording the IP address and browser header.

Viral Marketing: the rapid adoption of a product or passing on of an offer to friends and family through word-of-mouth (or word-of-email) networks. Any advertising that propagates itself the way viruses do.

I really don't understand.

People claim that affiliate marketing did this or that for them and they say it's one of the lowest risk things you can do to make money online. I do believe it's easy to join, not necessarily easy to make an income from.

But that's not the point I'm getting to. The point I would like to discuss is, if it's so great and free to do, then why does everyone charge you an arm and a leg to "teach you the secrets of affiliate marketing?" I thought Affiliate marketing was free...

Look. To anyone who is new to marketing, I am going to setup a free crash course about affiliate marketing. It will be in blog post form, but as I write them, I will set them up in order so they make sense. This way people really will learn affiliate marketing for free...

Dont Buy Affiliate Rockstar Status

Hello everyone! Just stopped by to tell you about the latest marketing craze by the Day Job Killer team and Eric Rockefeller, the Affiliate Rockstar Status. If you don't know who any of the authors are, then here's a real quick rundown:

Chris McNeeney and Ken Oboe wrote the Clickbank bestsellers Day Job Killer, Project Blackmask and Google Assassin. Actually, Google Assassin was rather software that Andrew Fox was pushing a while back, but whatever... Anyways...

Eric Rockefeller, or commonly refers to himself as EROCK, wrote Last Affiliate Secret among a few other things.

Don't get me wrong, Affiliate Rockstar Status does have some great ideas behind it, but is it really worth the $97 price tag? Not to me. That's why I will be writing a summary for it (more on that at my Guru Crusher Blog).

Two Popular Affiliate programs that have bit the bullet…

Well, even though it has been a while since these two has reached their end, I figure I will put it out there any way. The first is actually a very recent Clickbank favorite, while the other is a Referral program that only lasted just over a year.

The first that I would like to point out is the very infamous Ultimate Wealth Package. UWP, as it is abbreviated, was a very popular Clickbank item, in sales and affiliates. The program offered to give you a money making website that all you had to do was advertise, and the site would make you money after that. You can actually get that same website for free here: MONEY MAKING WEBSITE.

If you were a big of Ultimate Wealth Package, then you should know by now, that you’re affiliate links for Clickbank no longer work. That’s because it got shut down. Too many refunds resulted in it no longer being sold thru Clickbank. So then “Mark Warren” (if that is his real name) sold it thru E-sellerate, but then they shut him down too.

If you go to ultimatewealthpackage.com, then you will see that it no longer works. You have to go to www.theultimatewealthpackage.com to see what it looked like before it was shut down. You can’t even buy the product anymore!

The second program that I wanted to tell you about is AGLOCO. This was actually a bunch of MLM hype based on a small little toolbar for internet browsing that supposedly would check the pages you went to for ads and stuff.

They also gave commissions to people for referring people to them with their affiliate links. But just recently they sent out an email stating they lack the funds to continue. Oh well. There are plenty more out there.

Before we proceed, please understand...
I had given up on Affiliate Marketing. I hated trying over and over to master this so-called "easy money making technique".
I truly did. Heck, in a few seconds I'm going to give you my exact reason why...

But first, let me state how I ended up in this debacle; how this mess got started...

Just a few short weeks ago, just under a month, I was doing some research for a new product when I came across a new product called Affiliate Project X by Master Affiliate, Chris McNeeney; creator of such items like Adwords Miracle and Day Job Killer.

Now I had heard of these recent successes but never needed them, so I never bought 'em. But when I saw a new Affiliate Marketing product I thought to myself, "I guess I could try it." And here I am...

"But why do I loathe Affiliate Marketing so much that I don't usually use it?..."

Well, let me explain. I make most my income online. I know pretty much all of the common money making techniques (heck, even a few unknown ones; yo gotta stay on top to be the best..) So any time I get a leak about a new product, I try to learn the secrets before the public so I can get a jump on the game...

But, I have never been a big fan of Affiliate Marketing- everyone and their grandmother swears by affiliate marketing. "It's the easiest way to make money," they claim. Don't get me wrong - I have made money from it, but it never made me rich.

Then, the same man behind AWM and DJK, decided to unleash his newest epic, Affiliate Project X; supposedly the product to make anyone a Super Affiliate in no time. As interesting as it seemed, I wasn't totally on the bandwagon...

Of course he was going to make their new product sound good, and of course he mentioned the success of with this method over and over.

So, you can imagine my thoughts when I came across the link for Affiliate Project X. Normally, I wouldn't go into this type of product, but I had heard from a few other fellow marketers suggested it, so I gave it a test run.

When I arrived to Affilliate Project X's site, I was utterly compelled to read each and every word on the aforementioned sales letter, and the product description seemed to boast some interesting features that could prove quite useful. Including the awesome tools included to automate your profits...

But, again, I was still in that indecisive mode...,

By now the thought was running through my head, "as great as this item sounds with the great features, decent copy, and its supposed easy money generating techniques, it's probably not worth it..."

And that was it. I trailed off APX's website and continued on with my research my own projects. But as the week went on, I got email after email from subscribers, previous customers and even fellow marketers about how well Chris' new product was working for them. Screw it I thought, I'll try it...

May I say one thing before I continue?

The only reason that I went ahead and bought a copy is because I had already tried the rest and had nothing to lose.

The next day, I decided to look what I probably wasted my money on.
So, I decided to give it a chance, and make full use of Affiliate Project X... so I sat down for a while to do some serious use and abuse. Since I had it, I figured I was going to try and get all the use I could out of it...

Let me just say this: One evening wasn't nearly enough time...

Almost a week later I had figured Affiliate Marketing out to a "T." I has mastered every aspect of selling other people's products, using every single Affiliate Project X technique I had learned. Although, there was one thing bothered me...

I don't want you to think of me as a liar, so let me go ahead and tell you some of the features of Affiliate Project X. Remember, each one is as good as the next, almost worthy of its own product...:

1. Easy to Follow blueprint - Learn how to start from scratch in a market and climb to the top in no time. With his proven step by step diagram, you can't lose!.
2. Make Money from others- Once you master this technique, you'll really be killing the Affilliate Marketing game, because you'll not only learn how to make money from your own content, but from other people's content too!

My review of Brad Callen's Affiliate Elite Software

Let me first start off by saying that the product is actually pretty decent. Now, while most would try to wrap you into some story of how they used it and it worked miracles and now their life is changed and you should buy it too, that's my style. Anyone who has been to my Guru Crusher blog knows that. Anyways... More about the product.

The recent software release was by Brad Callen. Brad is the creator of Keyword Elite, SEO Elite, Article Submitter, Directory Submitter and Niche Revolution released Affiliate elite earlier this year in November. (And yes they are affiliate links if you're wondering.. If you're going to check the products out, you may as well get them through me... :) )

It was finally released November 6Th and hit people like a Tsunami. The day it went live, my Inbox exploded with affiliate link after affiliate link to buy this new software and so I checked it out. When I got to the page, it simply said:

Affiliate Elite - Giving Affiliates an unfair advantage!

I watched the video of Affiliate Elite in action. Then I read the sales letter. Affiliate Elite Software seemed to be something I could use...

Now here's where I could go on and on about that every marketer needs this and blah blah blah, but truth be told, it's not worth the $150+ to get. I mean ya, the tools are pretty useful and all, but at the same time, $150 is pretty steep, especially if you're supposedly trying to help new marketers.

Don't get me wrong, the product works. The spying on competitors and dominating the niche and all that is cool, but I don't think it's worth it.

So in the end, my final reccommendation is not to buy it. I mean I can't stop you and if you really must have them then go for it. Just know ahead of time, I told you so.

The Affiliate Revolution is coming...

If you don't know, I have a new product coming out called the Affiliate Revolution (or simply the Aff Rev).

This book is going to blow away everything you thought you knew about making money, affiliate marketing, AdSense, AdWords, blogging, SEO and everything else.

I haven't determined the price yet, but is definitely going to be fulfilling. I am barely starting on it now, being swamped with other projects, many of them sumaries, but I expect it to be done late January or sometime in Febraury.

Another Major Affiliate Marketing Mistake...

When setting up a domain for your website, sometimes it's easy to forget the dot when you finalize the URL. So then once it's registered you end up with wwwurl.com instead of www.url.com .

It is very easy to make such a mistake, especially when you in a hurry to jump into your first project or even a new marketing project. You get so anxious when you have a brilliant idea, and you just jump out and grab it, and once you have it, you're like "that's not what I wanted," and you're stuck with it.

This actually isn't uncommon and I feel that this can be your downfall when it comes to the fact that people will use that against you. Get the right domain, and then go and get the mistake ones.

Another HUGE mistake is putting in one extra or one less "W" in the url. So instead again of www., you get ww.url.com or wwww.whatever.com. This too can be a pain, but it is easier to fix, so don't despair, just fix it.

Well if you're already accustomed to affiliate marketing and internet marketing as a whole; this post isn't for you. But if you're new to the game of affiliate marketing the nthe best place to start is good ol' CLICKBANK.

At clickbank, you can promote products or sell them and there are over 10k publishers total, with new ones added daily. The products range anywhere in price, and you can use the marketplace to search for products by name, price, gravity, popularity and so on.

Also, signing up for Clickbank is a snap. Within 3 or so minutes you too can have a clickbank account and honestly, as many as you want.

4 simple mistakes that Affiliate Marketers Make

Here are some quick mistakes that affiliate marketers try to make:

1) Promoting too many products at once - You should focus on maybe 1 to 3 in the same niche, and once they're successful, move on to another set of items.

2) Trying to create too many infoproducts at once. This can be a killer because I can still be this way today. Anytime I have an idea, I get to work on it right away and forget stuff that was already in the process.

3) Thinking that it will be easy as pie profits. True it is little risk, high gain, but it does take time and work, and if not done properly, a lot of capital.

and finally 4) Marketers that start veering away from the niche they intentionally set out to market in. This can be one of the biggest killers out there. Stay on track, dammit!

2 simple methods for blog traffic

If you're a blog owner, then besides the point of simply writing a blog to express your thoughts and feeling, I should think that the second reason you would put a blog up is to get people to read it. Well, the following techniques can help you generate really targeted, and related traffic.

Method 1:
“Blog Comments”

Blog comments are a very underrated source of blog traffic. Think about it. When you setup a blog, the first blog you're thinking of is your own. Go out and search for blogs with similar theme, feel, thoughts, ideas or overall message.

When it comes to leaving the actual comment, what you say it definitely up to you. But make the comment a question or a really good some kind of comment that makes the reader interested in you. But if you're going to leave a url, only put it once, because many spam filters don't like that and they will shut you down. Many times, I won't even leave a URL unless there is a box that I can put it in at.

Best rule is to put it at the end, after your comment. or just put the url like this -> urlname.com , that way they can put it into their browser and open it, without you getting tagged for spam.

Or this: hxxp://cotyschwabe.blogspot.com . Notice the xx's? When you put them into a browser and hit enter, it changes automatically.

Yes I know, I'm a genius.

Method 2:

“Forum Posting”

If you don't know what forums are or if you've never really participated in one, then let's go over them real quick like...

In a forum, all it is is people posting about whatever topics pertain to the forum. Like if it were a certain video game, maybe there are walkthroughs, questions about how to beat certain levels, unlock stuff, picture, etc. Well, one person will make a "thread" which is basically a new question or topic, and then everyone else will make comments on that topic.

When you post, many (almost all of them...) will allow you to have what's known as a signature. (if you already know this, don't think I'm patronizing you, just helping..) This is where you can put a link to your blog or site and it will go on every post you make. DO NOT put it as the actuall comment because a lot of forums will ban you for this.

Find forums that are relevant to your niche, join them and participate in the discussions. Most forums allow you to add a signature link. Use that to place the link back to your blog.

Another One Bites The Dust... The fall of AGLOCO

If you've ever heard of AGLOCO, then you porbably already know that they have fallen.
